My First Blogging Public Speaking Event in Sri Lanka

Recently I conducted an event in Sri Lanka regarding how to start a blog and make money from it. It was an quite successful event. I did not expect that many number of users who attended the event. It was a very useful and introductive session for most of the attendees. Blogging is still at beginning stage in Sri Lanka. They were slightly shocked to see the earnings of other bloggers who make money around the world, including my earnings. Because the internet is always a place to spend money in Sri Lanka, so when I said you can make money and get income from it, they could not believe.

I had a plan to take photos during the sessions, but unfortunately I missed to take photos due to my deep involvement in the session 🙂 . Luckily one of the attendee took couple of photos and I’m happy to share them here. Since the PowerPoint presentation was made dedicatedly for Sri Lankans, currently I’m modifying it to suite for all new bloggers around the world. I highly recommend to subscribe my news letter, I will be sending the PDF version of modified presentation once its ready. I guarantee that the presentation will be very useful, and can motivate you in blogging.

60% – 40%

The session is mainly to target new bloggers and whoever wants to enter blogging as money making method. I went through 60%-40% method, 60% as theory to understand blogging, face the facts, know the reality of blogging and prepare the mindset for longer term blogging, because I feel these are the important lessons any new blogger should learn and understand. Failure to learn and understand them will lead them to quit blogging quickly. Other 40% as practical session about how to select the topic, blog post ideas, register the new blog and how to actually get started.

These are the main content of the presentation (which will be sent as PDF to my subscribers)

  1. Thats really Pushing and motivating. I agree BLOGGING IS FUN , if you to learn or if you want to earn. I right approach is only needed to go forward.
You way of imparting 60-40 ratio is also very practical in nature, otherwise I have seen many using 80-20 ratio, Concept is necessary but so as Practical, Otherwise its a School Session.
    Happy Blogging

    • @Shekhar, yes, blogging and making money from it really fun.
80-20 rule is basically to get the 80% of outcome by 20% of work. But here, I have mentioned 60% of theory and 40% of practical in blogging.
Thanks for reading my blog and your comment.

  3. Amazing!

One step further to your success, Darren Rowse wrote on a post that after having certain degree of earnings from his blog he expanded to public speaking and inspiration for audiences.

Watching you go through that part confirms that like the natural flow of development for a rising Blogger.

    Congrats!

    • @Rohit Singh, obviously there is no secret, or no point in hiding the way it works. If someone can learn from something from me, I’ll be happy to teach, internet is sooo big with lots of opportunities.

  4. Hello, Dinesh this is my first comment on your blog. And I would like to congratulate you for successfully completing the event though it’s a bit late now. Next, if you can get it recorded that could’ve brought more value to readers.
I first visited your blog via Google. Consequently, I started reading your posts and liked the sense of honesty emanating from your writing. Wishing continued success!
